Since 2003, Jared Pizarro and Justin Joyce have been writing, performing and recording a unique blend of soul, pop and rock n’ roll music. After meeting at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth while studying world music, they quickly felt a sense of undeniable potential. They began performing locally and gained a devoted following. In 2006, the two joined up with a rhythm guitarist and drummer and formed the band Hello Mahalo. They were immediately signed by the independent label, BandStandLive Records and released their first full length album, “Dawning Days” on November 9th, 2008. The album’s self titled single received critical acclaim and major radio airplay. Touring the east coast and opening for such acts as Howie Day, Guster and Toots and The Maytals they built an even larger fan base. While crafting their second album, Hello Mahalo decided to take a hiatus due to creative and personal differences. However, Jared and Justin remained a duo and continued to create and perform under the moniker JaJu. Currently the band features drummer Scott Brenner, Bassist/Keyboardist Virginia Hunter and rapper/singer Joey Stadik. |
