Return of Simple
New YorK, New York

Return of Simple is a piano rock trio led by pianist, singer and composer, Rob Kovacs. Kovacs began playing piano at age three and was composing full-length piano pieces by age ten. At age 13, he recorded his first album on cassette tape, distributing it to family, friends and classmates. At age 24, he became the first pianist to perform both parts of Steve Reich's Piano Phase simultaneously. Kovacs started writing material for Return of Simple in 2003 and released the three-song recording, Blue Demo, later that year. The demo started circulating around the Baldwin-Wallace College campus, which led to the band playing to a packed house for their first show at a local coffee shop, Cafe Ah-Roma. Several years later the band released a nine-song recording titled Saffron EP. This recording received reviews from magazines, newspapers and blogs and was played on radio stations across the country and as far away as Hawaii. The title track, Saffron, became the most requested song of all time on WBWC, The Sting. Saffron as well as Let It Stay Lost were both featured on XM Radio's the Radar Report. Let It Stay Lost was also selected to be a part of Volkswagen's 2007 autoshows across the country.
